Bio
Shenlu Liu (b. 2000, Beijing) is a textile and digital artist whose practice moves fluidly between knitted structures, interactive textiles, and video-based environments. Her work investigates the sensory dialogue between body, emotion, and energy, often drawing on crystalline symbolism and optical phenomena to reimagine the relationship between materiality and immateriality. Through iterative processes of knitting, weaving, embroidery, and digital simulation, she develops what she calls “ornamental energy languages,” translating invisible flows into tactile, visual, and rhythmic experience.
Shenlu studied Fashion Design (Knitwear) at the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology before completing her MA in Textiles at the Royal College of Art in London, where she graduated with distinction. Her works have been exhibited internationally, including presentations at Purist Gallery in London, 3x3 Gallery in Tokyo, and Luan Gallery in Beijing.
